Basketball Recap: Clarion-Limestone's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Clarion-Limestone lost against Karns City back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Clarion-Limestone Lions took a hard 49-32 fall against the Karns City Gremlins. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Gremlins are ranked 81st).

Despite the defeat, Clarion-Limestone saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hannah Beggs posted eight points in addition to ten boards and four steals. Those ten boards set a new season-high mark for Beggs. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Love, who put up nine points.

Clarion-Limestone moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Karns City, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Clarion-Limestone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-44 defeat against Cranberry Area on the 9th. As for Karns City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 45-23 victory against Moniteau on the 9th.
