Football Recap: Legacy Academy Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Legacy Academy waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Tucumcari Rattlers as they made off with a 28-6 victory. Considering the Silverbacks have won five contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The critical scores for Legacy Academy came from Jay Lee, Lorenzo Sedillo-Urban, Bryant Scales, and Xander Chavez.

Legacy Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 287 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Legacy Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adrian Lopez and Cameron Maldonado.

Legacy Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Tucumcari, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legacy Academy will welcome Santa Rosa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Silverbacks 8.9, the Lions 6.3) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Tucumcari, they will be playing at home against Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rattlers will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.38 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
