Baseball Recap: Granada Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Granada had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Alhambra Bulldogs 8-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Matadors, who have now won three games in a row.

Granada gave Brandon Hahn the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Hahn has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Granada let Tyler Palma and Max Rocheleau run wild. Palma went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Rocheleau went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Palma a new career-high. Luke Creeden was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Granada kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alhambra only managed six.

Granada's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Alhambra, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.

Looking ahead, Granada will head out on the road to square off against Clayton Valley Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Matadors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Alhambra does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
