Recap: Orange Glen Patriots vs. Holtville Vikings
The Orange Glen Patriots lost against the Holtville Vikings back in December of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Orange Glen took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holtville.
Holtville had a senior duo take command as Jasmine Garewal scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and Vanessa Gonzalez scored 17 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Garewal has scored at least 25% of Holtville's points. Destiny Vargas was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Orange Glen's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Holtville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Glen won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southwest SD at 11:30 a.m. on December 9th. Southwest SD has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Holtville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
