Basketball Recap: Shafter Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Shafter extended their home winning streak to 18 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Alexia Ramirez. The Shafter Generals blew past the Chavez Titans, posting a 65-29 win thanks in part to Ramirez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Kyla Schooley, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Those six assists gave her a new career-high.

Shafter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.8 points. As for Chavez, they moved to 9-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Shafter will challenge Kennedy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shafter is facing Kennedy at the right time seeing as Kennedy is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Chavez, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-33 loss against Taft on the 4th.
