Basketball Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Drops Season-High Score on Fannett Metal

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Claysburg-Kimmel). They came out on top against Fannett Metal by a score of 56-47 on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Claysburg-Kimmel found their leader in sophomore Zailee Bush, who posted 28 points along with eight boards and three steals. Bush has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Bella Francona was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds.

Claysburg-Kimmel was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Claysburg-Kimmel's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13. As for Fannett Metal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Claysburg-Kimmel will venture away from home to take on Northern Bedford County at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Claysburg-Kimmel is facing Northern Bedford County at the right time seeing as Northern Bedford County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fannett Metal, they are taking a road trip to challenge Southern Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
