            Softball Recap: Pomona Panthers vs. D'Evelyn Jaguars        
        
		
        
        
            Pomona extended their losing streak  to five  on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-16. They lost  14-0 to the D'Evelyn Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  14-0  back in September.
As for D'Evelyn, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the  win, which was their eighth straight  at home. Considering they have won 15 contests by more than seven  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
For D'Evelyn's part,  Nava Basquez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Basquez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Lyla Nagy was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was  Valentina Lamas, who  went 1-for-2 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs.
 Looking ahead, Pomona will face off against Golden at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Demons have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last five matchups. As for D'Evelyn, they will take on Green Mountain at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 9.5  runs per game this season.
