Baseball Recap: Bartlett Comes Up Short

Bartlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to the Doherty Memorial Hilanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in April.

Bartlett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenny Arpin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Arpin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Xavier Butler also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Bartlett's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Doherty Memorial, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Coming up, Bartlett will be playing in front of their home fans against South at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Doherty Memorial, they will challenge Burncoat at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
