Basketball Game Preview: Redlands East Valley Wildcats vs. Palm Springs Indians

The Redlands East Valley Wildcats will take on the Palm Springs Indians in a tournament on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Redlands East Valley will bounce into Monday's game after beating Yucca Valley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Redlands East Valley breezed by Yucca Valley to the tune of 51-24 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Palm Springs didn't have too much trouble with Desert Hot Springs on Saturday as they won 46-29. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palm Springs' win came from a few key players Redlands East Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eiresslee Wells, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Shayla Bates was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Palm Springs is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Redlands East Valley, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
