Football Recap: Northfield's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Northfield made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ralston Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Nighthawks fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 18-16 on Thursday. The Nighthawks have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Although Northfield took the loss, they still got scores from Ana Baseman and Daphne Thomas.

Northfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caroline Cummings and Julianne Heilner.

Ralston Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashlyn Callahan, who picked up 53 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 32 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northfield fell to 6-1. As for Ralston Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Northfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 40-0 victory against George Washington on the 13th. As for Ralston Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-6 win against Columbine on the 13th.
