Baseball Game Preview: Cook Hornets vs. Columbus Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Cook will face off against Columbus. The Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Cook is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Columbus 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since March 27th.

For Columbus' part, Thomas Williams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Maddox Anderson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cook has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Columbus, they moved to 23-11 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.
