Basketball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

After flying high against Estes Park last Tuesday, Lyons came back down to earth. The Lyons Lions were outmatched by the Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes and fell 79-48. The Lions have struggled against the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Lyons still got an impressive performance from Caleb Christiansen, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 23 points. The match was Christiansen's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Michael Newell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Lyons' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Bishop Machebeuf, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Lyons has already played their next game, a 60-37 win against Front Range Baptist on the 14th. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-56 victory against SkyView Academy on the 15th.
