Recap: California Trojans vs. Charleroi Cougars
It was a good run, but the California Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 62-47 fall against Charleroi. California has struggled against Charleroi recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Bella Carroto, who scored 27 points for Charleroi. That makes it three consecutive games in which Carroto has scored at least a third of Charleroi's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Sypolt, who scored 13 points.
California's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Charleroi, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
California's road trip will continue as they head out to face Frazier at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. As for Charleroi, they will be playing at home against McGuffey at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. McGuffey presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Charleroi in Pennsylvania (McGuffey is ranked 203rd, while Charleroi is ranked 443rd).
