Monroe hasn't had much luck against Bainbridge recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Monroe Golden Tornadoes are taking a road trip to square off against the Bainbridge Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. Monroe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Monroe took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Macon County an 18-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Tornadoes considering their one-run performance the game before.

Javion Tinch made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Monroe is 3-1 when Tinch posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.
In other batting news, Monroe got a massive performance out of Isaiah Royal, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Royal a new career-high. Bradyn Chamberlain was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-1.
Monroe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .917. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Bainbridge came up short against Worth County on Friday and fell 7-2.
Bainbridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bowen Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Smith brought in this season.
Bainbridge dropped their record down to 1-6-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Monroe, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Bainbridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Monroe hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Bainbridge, though, as they've only averaged .159. Will they be able to contain Monroe's hitters?
Monroe might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Bainbridge in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can Monroe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
