Soccer Game Preview: Watsonville vs. Rancho San Juan

The Watsonville Wildcatz will head out to challenge the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Watsonville's offense. They fell 2-0 to Soledad on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcatz can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Aztecs are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Rancho San Juan was not quite Everett Alvarez's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3. Kaylee Hernandez probably wasn't too happy after the match: she scored every single goal for the Trailblazers and still walked away on the losing team.

Watsonville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-2 record this season. As for Rancho San Juan, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-2.
