Softball Recap: Bryan Comes Up Short

Bryan had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 6-22 to make it seven. They came up short against the Millard West Wildcats, falling 13-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Millard West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

For Millard West's part, London Garcia looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Garcia a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tiffany Frey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 12 contests. Aubrey Burdorf was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Bryan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Millard West, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-1 win against Millard South on the 8th.
