Soccer Recap: Venice Takes a Loss

After soaring to five goals the game before, Venice was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palisades Dolphins. If the Gondoliers were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Venice's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 12-5-3. As for Palisades, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Venice and Palisades should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Venice will face off against Los Angeles CES at 2:30 p.m. on Monday up 206 places (195 vs. 401). Similarly, Palisades (ranked 65th) will meet University (ranked 955th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
