Baseball Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Carroll's offense. They lost 9-0 to the Eastern Comets on Monday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Carroll saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Hammond, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Hammond is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Eastern, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Carroll will face off against Clinton Central at 5:00 p.m. on the 27th. As for Eastern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
