Soccer Game Preview: Camden County vs. Richmond Hill

Camden County hasn't had much luck against Richmond Hill recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Richmond Hill will be up against a hot Camden County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Camden County's defense stepped up to hand Tift County a 3-0 shutout on Friday. Given Camden County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Tift County are ranked 193rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dane Weaver and Angel Rivera scored all three of Camden County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, the match between Richmond Hill and Colquitt County was close at halftime, but Richmond Hill turned on the heat in the second half with four goals. Richmond Hill was the clear victor by a 6-1 margin over Colquitt County on Friday. Considering Richmond Hill have won seven games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Camden County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Richmond Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
