Football Recap: Moose Lake/Willow River's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Moose Lake/Willow River put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Aitkin Gobblers as they made off with a 34-14 win. That's more bragging rights for the Rebels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Moose Lake/Willow River had a senior duo take command as Micah Thompson rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries and Parker Samarzia rushed for 108 yards and a pair of TDs. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 92 yards.

Moose Lake/Willow River was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 318 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Moose Lake/Willow River's record now sits at 3-0. As for Aitkin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
