While El Modena didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Santa Ana Valley Falcons 60-27. The Vanguards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 24 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Santa Ana Valley lost, don't look at Jocelyn Guadalupe. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jakeline Campos, who earned six points.

El Modena's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 15.9 points per game. As for Santa Ana Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

El Modena and Norwalk will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. El Modena's defense has only allowed 19.8 points per game this season, so Norwalk's offense will have their work cut out for them. Santa Ana Valley has already played their next game, a 44-14 win against Glenn on the 16th.
