Baseball Game Preview: Madison County Red Raiders vs. East Jackson Eagles

The Madison County Red Raiders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the East Jackson Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Madison County is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell just short of Monroe Area by a score of 3-1 on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, East Jackson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 17-1 to Athens Academy on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Spartans since March 16, 2023.

Madison County couldn't quite get it done against East Jackson in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 as they fell 5-2. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
