Recap: Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls vs. Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers
This season hasn't been kind to the Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They were the victim of a rough 59-37 defeat at the hands of Archbishop Spalding on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Archbishop Ryan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 287th in Pennsylvania, while Archbishop Spalding is ranked 51st in Maryland).
Archbishop Spalding's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryanne Clark led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five rebounds. Clark set a new season high mark in points with 12. The team also got some help courtesy of Whitley Watkins, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds.
Archbishop Ryan's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Archbishop Spalding, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
Archbishop Ryan is on the road again on December 17th and play against Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th. Archbishop Spalding and DC International will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
