Basketball Recap: Belleville Mennonite Thunder vs. Meadowbrook Christian

Belleville Mennonite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 37-21 to Meadowbrook Christian. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 34-16 back in December of 2024.

Leading Meadowbrook Christian to victory were Madalyn Fasnacht and Hannah Millett. Fasnacht almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals, while Millett posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Fasnacht is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 33 games she's played dating back to last season. Megan Reed was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Belleville Mennonite's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Meadowbrook Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Belleville Mennonite will take on Walnut Street Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meadowbrook Christian has already played their next matchup, a 35-2 win against Juniata Christian on the 21st.
