Basketball Recap: San Gabriel Academy's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

After losing to The Webb Schools the last time they met, San Gabriel Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The San Gabriel Academy Eagles took down The Webb Schools Gauls 36-18 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles who have now won three contests in a row.

Despite the defeat, The Webb Schools had strong showings from Geniya Parker, who posted eight points along with nine rebounds and six steals, and Pristine Thomas, who had four points in addition to 15 boards and four steals. Thomas has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 22 times she's played. Lauren Gutierrez was another key player, putting up two points in addition to five boards and three steals.

San Gabriel Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for The Webb Schools, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12.

San Gabriel Academy will welcome Capistrano Valley Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Webb Schools does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
