Football Preview: Arp Tigers vs. Troup Tigers
Arp and Troup are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Arp Tigers will challenge the Troup Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, everything went Arp's way against Sabine as Arp made off with a 46-20 win. That looming 46-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.
Arp got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Mckelvey out in front who threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown. Another rusher making a difference was Josh Smith, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
He was just one part of a punishing run game: Arp was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Wells' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season. Hayden Huml got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Arp's record now sits at 3-1. As for Troup, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
