Softball Recap: Ralston Comes Up Short

Ralston fell victim to Blair and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The Rams have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Makenzie Macrander spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ralston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Ochsner, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Ralston's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Blair, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-4.

Ralston has already played their next game, a 5-0 win against Gross Catholic on the 11th. As for Blair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Gretna East on the 13th.
