Recap: Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride vs. New Foundations
The Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of New Foundations by a score of 39-37. Cristo Rey Philadelphia has not had much luck with New Foundations recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
New Foundations' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava A, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiana T, who scored 11 points.
Cristo Rey Philadelphia bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Foundations, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.
Cristo Rey Philadelphia will head out on the road to face off against Girard College at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Girard College comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for New Foundations, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. on January 5th.
