Softball Game Preview: Newton Cardinals vs. Indianola Indians

The Newton Cardinals will challenge the Indianola Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Newton: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Indianola has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.

On Friday, Newton came up short against Oskaloosa and fell 7-4.

Meanwhile, Indianola lost 14-4 to Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Indianola, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.
