Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodside). They never let the Newark Memorial Cougars onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Thursday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Cougars are ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Woodside hit Newark Memorial with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mariam Yusuf (2), Kiara Arai, and Tindra Eckstein.

Woodside now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Newark Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Woodside didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Notre Dame on the 4th. Newark Memorial has also already played their next contest, a 2-2 draw against Washington on the 7th.
