Softball Recap: Wray/Yuma Takes a Loss

Wray/Yuma fell victim to McCook and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bison. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Priscylla White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Wray/Yuma dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for McCook, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wray/Yuma will head out to square off against Bayard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for McCook, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hastings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Bison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
