Basketball Game Preview: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Sacramento Waldorf Waves

Buckingham Charter is 0-8 against Sacramento Waldorf since December of 2014 but things could change on Monday. The Buckingham Charter Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Sacramento Waldorf Waves at 3:30 p.m. Buckingham Charter's defense has only allowed 23.6 points per game this season, so Sacramento Waldorf's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Buckingham Charter is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Vacaville Christian an easy 36-10 win.

Meanwhile, Sacramento Waldorf made easy work of Foothill on Saturday and carried off a 42-20 victory. The Waves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Buckingham Charter better focus on containing Aubrey Payne and Zoe Malena as the pair were huge in Sacramento Waldorf's win. Payne dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 steals, while Malena posted eight points and ten rebounds. What's more, Malena also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Juliet Shaw, who put up six points.

Sacramento Waldorf's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Buckingham Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Buckingham Charter suffered a grim 30-4 defeat to Sacramento Waldorf in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Buckingham Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
