Soccer Game Preview: Cordova vs. West Park

The Cordova Lancers will venture away from home to take on the West Park Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cordova is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Antelope on Thursday. They came up short against the Titans, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when West Park challenged Kennedy on Thursday. West Park walked away with a 3-1 win over Kennedy. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Cougars are ranked 498th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Park hit Kennedy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kiran Dhaliwal, Bella Madigan, and Sydney Hall.

West Park's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. As for Cordova, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
