Soccer Recap: Lompoc Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Lompoc's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Maria Saints on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 783rd, while the Saints are ranked 158th).

Lompoc's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-1. As for Santa Maria, they pushed their record up to 13-1-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Lompoc has already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Pioneer Valley on the 14th. As for Santa Maria, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Cabrillo on the 14th.
