Basketball Recap: Eternaty Proctor Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Garces Memorial

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ridgeview, Highland was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They snuck past the Garces Memorial Rams with a 38-34 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-34 back in December of 2024.

Highland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eternaty Proctor led the charge by going 5 of 10 en route to 12 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Proctor a new career-high in shooting accuracy (50%). Another player making a difference was Zelia Hoyt, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 15 points.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Garces Memorial, their defeat was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-19.

Highland has already played their next matchup, a 49-38 loss against Bakersfield on the 28th. As for Garces Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 77-25 defeat against Centennial on the 28th.
