Softball Recap: Chamblee Wins Going Away Against Lakeside

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southwest DeKalb, Chamblee was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Lakeside Vikings. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Stella Barton made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Chamblee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Chamblee moved to 4-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lakeside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Chamblee will face off against Decatur at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Decatur has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lakeside, they will be playing at home against Dunwoody at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
