Baseball Recap: Lampeter-Strasburg Takes a Loss

Lampeter-Strasburg made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ephrata, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pioneers fell just short of the Mountaineers by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Mountaineers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Devin Aponte was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Lampeter-Strasburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another was Cooper Hillen, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lampeter-Strasburg's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Ephrata, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Lampeter-Strasburg nor Ephrata have any future games scheduled.
