Basketball Recap: Pleasant Grove Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Pleasant Grove and Lincoln squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Pleasant Grove had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to the Lincoln Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Trojans are ranked 61st).

Despite the loss, Pleasant Grove still got an impressive performance from Kate Myers, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. Myers continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Alvarado, who posted ten points.

Pleasant Grove's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Pleasant Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln, they will face off against Oak Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
