Baseball Recap: Oscoda Takes a Loss

Oscoda dropped to 6-15 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Tawas Area Braves by a score of 5-4. The Owls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Tawas Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games.

For Tawas Area's part, Aidan Smith was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Smith has posted since back in April. Leif Guillotel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

While Oscoda had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
