            Softball Preview: Marion County Eagles vs. Taylor County Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            The Marion County Eagles will head out on the road to  square off against  the Taylor County Vikings  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Marion County's  win against Hawkinsville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Red Devils  15-14 on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 19, 2022, but that streak is no more.
The team  relied heavily on  Kinsley Barrow, who  went a perfect 5-for-5 with five  runs, two  stolen bases,  and one  RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous  run total in each of the last three games she's  played.  Haleigh Frazier was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marion County  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in August.
 Meanwhile, Taylor County waltzed into their matchup  on Monday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. They skirted past the Red Devils  7-5.
 Marion County's record now sits at 18-6. As for Taylor County, their record is now 19-2.
 Marion County might still be hurting after the  7-0 loss they got from Taylor County  when the teams last played  back in September. Can the Eagles avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
