Basketball Game Preview: Fresno Warriors vs. Hoover Patriots

The Fresno Warriors will take on the Hoover Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Fresno is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Sierra just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chieftains.

Meanwhile, Hoover was beaten by Clovis East 70-29 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 138th).

Fresno's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Hoover, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Fresno came up short against Hoover when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 43-38. Can Fresno avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
