The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush KNIGHTS's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Roxborough, falling 39-9. Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush has not had much luck with Roxborough recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush saw an underclassman step up: Tima Sonnanburg scored six points.
Jaylah Holmes was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points for Roxborough. The matchup was Holmes' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Siaharr Simmons, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Roxborough, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush will take on Philadelphia Electric Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Philadelphia Electric Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Roxborough, they will head out on the road to face off against Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Thomas A. Edison is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
