Baseball Game Preview: Stephens County Indians vs. Franklin County Lions

Stephens County hasn't had much luck against Franklin County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Lions at 5:55 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Stephens County comes in on four and Franklin County on seven.

Stephens County is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since February 22nd on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Hart County 7-5.

Meanwhile, Franklin County made easy work of East Jackson on Thursday and carried off an 8-2 win. Considering the Lions have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Franklin County pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Stephens County, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Stephens County might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Franklin County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
