Softball Recap: North County Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

North County took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Saxony Lutheran, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders' pitcher stepped up to hand the Crusaders a 1-0 shutout on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since September 3rd.

Not much got past Emma Roper (Sr), who gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks to keep Saxony Lutheran off the board.

At the plate, North County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Jaco (So), who went 2-for-3 with one double.

North County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. As for Saxony Lutheran, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. North County will head out to face off against Sikeston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.71 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Saxony Lutheran, they will venture away from home to square off against Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
