Cathedral Catholic is 8-2 against La Jolla since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Cathedral Catholic Dons will welcome the La Jolla Vikings at 5:00 p.m.

Cathedral Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Point Loma a 2-0 shutout. Given the Dons' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Pointers are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aubrey Crisostomo and Olivia Dianda scored both of Cathedral Catholic's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, La Jolla has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 13. They and Steele Canyon finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

With that draw, La Jolla's record moves to 1-10-4. As for Cathedral Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5-2 record this season.

Everything went Cathedral Catholic's way against La Jolla when the teams last played on January 10th, as Cathedral Catholic made off with a 4-0 win. Will Cathedral Catholic repeat their success, or does La Jolla have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
