Basketball Recap: Jayda Green's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Foothill over Golden Valley

Foothill suffered their closest loss since February 27, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Golden Valley Bulldogs by a score of 34-31. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Foothill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayda Green, who posted four points along with 15 rebounds and three steals. Green is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marihya Portis, who had seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Golden Valley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 11-8.

Foothill will host Mira Monte at 6:40 p.m. on Friday. Golden Valley has already played their next contest (against Del Oro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
