Basketball Recap: Joyce Cassell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Motivation over Science Leadership Academy

Motivation was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-28 heartbreaker at the hands of Science Leadership Academy. The Jaguars lost against Science Leadership Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 55-24 score last time.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joyce Cassell, who posted nine points.

Motivation's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Science Leadership Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.

Motivation will face off against Academy at Palumbo at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Science Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
