Baseball Recap: Central Lancers vs. La Salle College Explorers

Central had lost nine straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 13-14 to make it ten. They lost 10-0 to the La Salle College Explorers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Explorers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 on May 8th.

As for La Salle College, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

For La Salle College's part, Alex Hisem looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Hisem a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Brycen Clarke and Kaden Cortez did most of the damage at the plate: Clarke went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Cortez got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael O'Connor, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
