Preview: Wiregrass Ranch Bulls vs. Booker Tornadoes

Wiregrass Ranch is 0-1 against Booker since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls will be playing at home against the Booker Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wiregrass Ranch had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed by Sunlake at home to the tune of 49-10. Wiregrass Ranch's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Luke Knight continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 371 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Knight is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Riggins, who picked up 165 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Booker got themselves on the board against DeSoto County on Friday, but DeSoto County never followed suit. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 40-0 win over the Bulldogs. Given Booker's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while DeSoto County is ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Booker got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Omarion Patterson out in front who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Their wins bumped Wiregrass Ranch to 6-1 and Booker to 5-2.

Wiregrass Ranch came up short against Booker in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 21-10. Will Wiregrass Ranch have more luck at home instead of on the road?
