Football Recap: Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

Opelika came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Central, but Jayshaun Woodhouse wouldn't allow it. The Red Devils simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bulldogs 42-6 thanks in part to Woodhouse, who rushed for 284 yards and three scores while picking up 13.5 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 84 yards.

One reason for the win was Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Tristan Lyles. He has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last six times he's played.

The win (which was Central's third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.7 points. As for Opelika, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will welcome JAG at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Opelika, they will be playing at home against Carver Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
